The 2021P class is putting servant leadership in action. They are volunteering in their local communities and challenging each other to be stronger leaders. In the summer of 2019 they are travelling to Costa Rica to continue this work. Help these future leaders continue to lead by donating. Please add the first name and last initial of the teen you are supporting along with any words of encouragement or gratitude in the comments section when you donate.
Your donation will make it possible for the class to travel to Costa Rica to support communities that are invested in Costa Rica’s diverse ecosystem. They will travel to Sarapiqui, where they will get to work with high school students in the Leaf Cutter Project. The Leaf Cutter Project (LCP) supports environmental education in Costa Rica and provides a career path for the LCP kids to work in Conservation and Ecotourism after high school. The class will be doing trail maintenance and sign painting, while working with and learning form the LCP kids.
They will then travel to the Caribbean coast for the second half of the trip to work with the community in Parismina that is focused on habitat restoration for Sea Turtles. The activities include patrolling the beach to find Sea Turtle nests, beach clean up, and working in the turtle nursery.
